Been drawin’ on Post-Its, the inbred nephew/son of the paper world, for the Post-It Show 3 at GR2 in LA this Saturday. I will not be there, but my Post-Its will, and they’ll be available for $20 a piece. HEY MAN, don’t yell at me because I didn’t price these, the store did. A FOOL AND HIS MONEY ARE SOON SOMETHING SOMETHING SOMETHING, AM I RIGHT

There are a shitload of artists in this show, and they’re anticipating something like 1600 post-its in all. My favorite baloney will also be showing a bunch of post-its, and they are BEAUTIFUL!

I, must, have, ALL of them! Awesome stuff as always madame. I really like the skull necklace one.
you’re like, totally brilliant
awesomeee *picks up sketchbook*
These are fucking awesome. I want a poster with ‘em all on it.
OH MAN these are so awesome. I like the ones with fish in them because fish are really cool and you draw them so well. The ones by Calvin are indeed beautiful- some of them have a really neat retro feel to them. I wish I could attend that show to see all of the post-its on display. D: Now I’m inspired to go draw (instead of do my schoolwork). D:
$20 a pop?? Does the money go to you at least? I will check out your effin’ awesome post-its. If I were a rich movie star, I would buy them all (and then some) to wallpaper my bedroom. ‘Til then, I’ll see if I can scrounge up enough change to put a down payment on one. Too bad you won’t be here!
wow, these are really shockingly great.
I love the textures and white-out and different lines going on here… it’s rad to see your stuff in this non-white background/negative colors, it really pops on the red, purple, etc.
Damn, I wish I could swing by the show. Between you & Cal (and Johnny & Tom’s post-its) I’d be out 140 bucks before I knew it. I hope no one rips them off the walls and dashes :)
noooo that’s not white-out. I’ve quit white out! it’s gouache
These are all gorgeous *_* Love the colors in the first one on the bottom row. Plus hole girl, mariachi guy, the one right before mariachi guy, pineapple ham, aaah they’re all really awesome.
I was gonna say “I want them alllllll” but I see I’m not the first. Still. I want them allllll!
Holy crap…! This stuff is amazing, Hellen. I think it’s your best artwork yet.
oh man, totally worth $20! these are gorgeous. yeah, agreed, i think you should reproduce the entire series in some cool way. the gouache textures are so sexy. you’re constantly evolving.
ps - if he’s your baloney, then does that make me your headcheese?
Yoooo!!! I went to the event Saturday night and scored the second piece in the first column. I love it and I feel like this was money well spent. Does this piece have a name? Just wonderin’.
All your pieces show a lot of effort and overall feel for awesomeness. There were some ‘post its’ at the GR2 show that were a bit boggling - but I can’t hate, at least those artists are living the dream!
Thanks for buying one of my post-its, TARDIS; I hope the show was fun! I didn’t name any of the Post-Its, but you own it now, so you can call it whatever you want!
aw man these are great! shannon did the post it show too, i’m so jealous. i want in!
Mashanda! the Post-It show is organized by Mark Todd & Esther Pearl Watson every year, so you already have an “in”! email them and be in it next year, dude
oh, fukdam. the show just ended yesterday, otherwise i would have crawled across LA to see these in the flesh / fiber. cos they’re fucking rawesome..
i’ve been lurking around your blog for a while now.. everything you post on here makes me want to go to the swiss alps and blow the ricola horn until my lungs collapse and i start coughing up blood (in a good way).
p.s. i read jin & jam whilst hanging out at mike n’s apartment a couple weeks back. A+++++ to infinity.
Hey Andrea,
don’t collapse your lungs on my account! I appreciate the sentiment though, dude. Nice to internet-meet you, and I’m glad you liked my comic! (Is the Mike N you mentioned Mike Nguyen, of Cal/Theatre Rice/weed fame?)
It surely is him.
Actually, in a weird lurker/stalker-like way, I should tell you that I think I met you or quasi-met you a few years back, thanks to knowing some of the same people… it’s a long, boring, rhizome-like story…
