I’D RATHER FIGHT THAN SWITCH

Here’s a commission I really fucking enjoyed drawing, for Robin McC., who asked that I “draw the Inkstuds dirtybird chillin with some fine ladies.” And everyone knows that there is no finer lady than a chain-smoking, big-haired bitch at the beach. Shiiiiit, even I wanna look that fine. (Inkstuds is a cool radio program about comics, hosted by Robin.)

I drew and painted this excitedly in one day after really struggling with another commission (still unfinished) over the weekend, thus proving that … I really only know how to draw one thing (which is fine ladies). SAD

  2. dude, this is really hot. I like the lines on the beach blanket/arms/legs— is that charcoal? I like that you didn’t ink on it and left it fuzzy.

So when are you getting yr first tattoo?

  4. Hey Ryan, nope, it’s not charcoal, it’s brushpen (ink!) on coldpress watercolor paper. Totally makes a cool drybrush/charcoal-type effect. I’ll probably end up getting my first tattoo when I’m 50

Haesue, YES! I kept thinking he looked like Happosai too. I was really tempted to add a bunch of wrinkle lines to his lips to complete the illusion
